ROOTS of Country Music

Richard J. Bell is a country music historian who has spent forty years researching and writing on a wide range of country music topics. He was a DJ on KROF-AM 960 (Lafayette, Louisiana) radio for nine years, where he was co-host of the Original Country Music Program.

It has taken several years of research, verifying, validating and writing to bring Roots of Country Music (RCM) to fruition. Roots of Country Music is the leading online source dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Original Country Music and our work has only begun. We specialize in Original Country Music from the mid-1920s through the late-1980s.
