Song Writers

Bowling, Roger

Roger Bowling: Roger was a songwriter, who wrote "Lucille" and "Coward of The County" for singer Kenny Rogers. Billie Jo Spears had a big hit with his song "Blanket on The Ground" and minor success with his compositions of “What I’ve Got In Mind” and “57 Chevrolet.” Roger recorded a few songs himself but was never popular in country music as a singer. He became friends with a lot of country music stars. Some attended his funeral, including Tammy Wynette and Tammy's husband, George RicheyBoyd, Bill
